Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith

  1. Bible: We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God in its original manuscripts, serving as the sole rule of faith and practice.

  2. Triune God: We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  3. Jesus Christ: We believe in the dual nature of our Lord Jesus Christ: fully divine and fully human. We affirm His virgin birth, sinless life, sacrificial death, bodily resurrection, ascension, and imminent return in glory.

  4. Mediator: We believe Jesus Christ to be the sole mediator between God and humanity.

  5. Depravity of Man: We believe all humanity to be lost and sinful, and salvation to be solely attained through God’s grace by personal faith in Jesus Christ, regenerated by the Holy Spirit.

  6. Repentance: We believe repentance to be an evangelical grace, wherein the Holy Spirit makes a person aware of the manifold evil of his sin, so that he humbles himself with godly sorrow and detesting sin, with a purpose and endeavor to walk before God so as to please Him in all things.

  7. Faith: We believe saving faith to be the belief, on God’s authority, of whatsoever is revealed in His Word concerning Christ: accepting and resting upon Him alone for justification and eternal life. It is wrought in the heart by the Holy Spirit, and is accompanied by all other saving grace, and leads to a life of holiness.

  8. Justification: We believe justification to be God’s gracious and full acquittal of sinners who believe in Christ, from all sin, through the satisfaction that Christ has made. It is given not for anything wrought by them or done by them, but on account of the obedience and satisfaction of Christ.

  9. Sanctification: Those who have been regenerated are also sanctified by God’s Word and Spirit dwelling in them. This sanctification is progressive through the supply of Divine strength, which all saints seek to obtain, pressing after a heavenly life in obedience to all Christ’s commands.

  10. The Church: We believe the Lord Jesus to be the Head of the Church, which is composed of all His true disciples, and in Him is invested supremely all power for its government. According to His commandment, Christians are to be members of local churches; and to each of these churches He has given needful authority for administering the order, discipline and worship which He has appointed.

  11. The Judgement: We believe that God has appointed a day, wherein He will judge the world by Jesus Christ, when every one shall receive according to his deeds: the wicked shall go into everlasting punishment, the righteous into everlasting life.
  12. Marriage: We believe marriage to be created by God in the beginning, as a blessing for both man and woman, before any sin or rebellion entered the world, and that he created marriage to be between one man and one woman, who enter into a covenant relationship, complement one another, serve one another, and sanctify one another for as long as they both shall live. Accordingly, we reject any attempt to redefine marriage as a union between people of the same sex or as between more than one man and one woman. We believe that the homosexual lifestyle and alternative gender identities are contrary to the Bible.
  13. Human Life: We believe human life to be sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all of human life.

This statement of faith is not exhaustive, with the Bible as the inspired and infallible Word of God being the ultimate authority on all matters of truth, morality, and human conduct.
