We are the Kims
Hi. We are the Kim family. Originally from New Jersey, we made our way to Central Florida in February of 2022, and we’ve been loving it here! We have homeschooled all three of our kids – Jayden, Aletheia, and Josiah – from the start and have no regrets. At the same time, we know how important community is for homeschoolers, and we are excited to build one here. If you’d like to learn more, please contact us. We’d love to hear from you.

I’ve always wanted to be a dad. I consider it my greatest calling. Like all fathers, I’ve made plenty of mistakes, but I’ve tried hard to lead my family well, knowing that that is what is commanded of me by the Lord, and by His grace, I’ve been able to be self-employed and thus available for my kids. We’ve enjoyed so many conversations, reading and studying God’s word, prayer, and worshiping the Lord together. These are precious gifts that no amount of money can replace. My desire is to encourage and help as many fathers as I can to lead their families well.
Jennifer

Marriage and family have been the joy of my life the past fifteen years. I have had the privilege of being married to a man that truly values the family. He made it possible for me to stay home and care for our three children and make our home a warm, hospitable place. I love my role as the caretaker, mentor, and teacher to my children, and as a wife, confidant, best friend, and biggest fan to JP. I am excited to encourage, share, and grow together with the young and older ladies in our Vanguard community!
Jayden
Hi, I’m Jayden. I am fourteen. As the oldest son in the Kim family, I take on most of the outdoor chores. It is actually quite enjoyable. I love to take care of our chickens and read outside. When I’m indoors, I enjoy writing my fictional stories (which I am hoping to publish) and working on my BOB (Bug Out Bag). Sportswise, I am learning tennis and practicing archery in my backyard. When I turn sixteen, I hope to become a teacher for the Vanguard Family Project.
Aletheia
I’m Aletheia, and I’m 13. I enjoy writing, reading, crocheting, drawing, playing piano, and raising chickens. I would really like to teach Latin and publish a book. I love to write fantasy stories. I also love to craft random things and make people gifts. Some of my favorite books are The Green Ember, The Wingfeather Saga, The Ranger’s Apprentice, Number the Stars, Anne of Green Gables, Little House on the Prairie, Pride and Prejudice, and Jane Eyre.
Josiah
Hi, my name is Josiah. I’m eleven years old. I like building and writing stories. My family and I have chickens and have a garden. I take care of my plants, and they’re very healthy. I have a brother and a sister. I believe that I am on this earth to love and serve God in all that I do.
